Take an interactive tour of the Columbia Morningside Campus.
(A static image of the local area map can be found at the bottom of this page)
You can take the #1 subway line (the "IRT" on Columbia's maps) or the M4 (Madison Avenue) or M104 (Broadway) buses directly to 116th Street and Broadway, the main gate of Columbia University. As you enter the gate, Dodge Hall is to your immediate left. However, you cannot enter on the south side of the building. Instead, walk to the end of the building, turn left up the steps (north), left again at the first plaza level, and up another flight of steps (west), and then enter Dodge Hall on the north side plaza level (3d floor of the building). (See picture with route drawn in red below.) The main office of the Music Department is on the 6th floor (621 Dodge). The Center for Ethnomusicology is on the 7th floor (701C, turn left as you come out of the elevators in front of the Music and Arts Library and walk to the end of the hall, through the alcove). Dodge Hall and the upper (Low Plaza) levels of the Columbia Morningside campus are handicapped accessible. Ask the guard in the kiosk at the main gate for assistance with the elevator for handicapped visitors. Profs. Washburne and Gray have offices on the 8th floor, which is not handicapped accessible. Please call if you require us to meet you on an accessible floor.
N.B. -- Do not confuse "Dodge Hall" with the "Dodge Fitness Center," also on the Morningside Campus.
