(B.M. 2005 cum laude in music performance and English literature, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill; M.A.  2008 in Ethnomusicology, Columbia University). Sara is the treasurer for the Mid-Atlantic Chapter for the Society of Ethnomusicology and the jazz assistant for the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program at Columbia. She also teaches music humanities as part of the Core curriculum. Her current research concerns music and other expressive genres as part of language revitalization projects in contemporary North American indigenous communities.
