His dissertation research was supported by a Fulbright Fellowship. He is a jazz pianist, and has twice taught the core course in Asian Music Humanities (East and Southeast Asia) at Columbia. He also served as senior editor and sat on the editorial board of
Current Musicology. Duriing 2004,
Dr. Wilson was a post-doctoral fellow in Asian Studies at Yale University.
