Space is limited and RSVP is requested to aaf19@columbia.edu About Prof. Deborah Wong: Deborah Wong is Professor of Music at the University of California at Riverside, and President Elect of the Society for Ethnomusicology. She has published two books, Sounding the Center: History and Aesthetics in Thai Buddhist Ritual (Chicago University Press, 2001), and Speak It Louder: Asian Americans Making Music (Routledge, 2004). She performs with Satori Daiko, a taiko ensemble in Los Angeles, and this presentation is from her book in progress, Big Beats: Taiko in Southern California. |
